  1. Gator Case Epiphone Casino For Sale
  • Beautiful case and good price with Sweetwater. The interior fits my Epiphone Casino very snug. The Blue interior is really stunning and the antique hardware looks really nice and compliments the cases colors and textures. Nice locking feature. I find Gator cases are durable and well made but.Gator needs to watch their quality control.
  • Especially the really good ones. This is for the new Epiphone DC Pro. They are extremely beautiful guitars, worthy of being taken care of. Epiphone has always been quite good and making a quality hard case for their guitars. This is no exception. When the guitar I wanted, became available, the cases weren't yet in Germany.

Since 1961, the legendary Casino has been Epiphone's best-selling archtop and a rock ‘n' roll standard. First introduced in 1961, the Casino was just one of several new thinline archtops designed and produced at the company's adopted new factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan that it shared with one-time competitor and new partner, Gibson. The Casino was first adopted by Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones who used a Casino to record the demo for 'Satisfaction' at Chess Records in Chicago. Howlin' Wolf took a Casino on his first tour of the UK, appearing on Thank Your Lucky Stars. Shortly afterwards, John Lennon and George Harrison bought Casinos for the Beatles 1966 world tour. Featuring Dogear P-90T Classic™ pickups and a 5-ply Maple body with Basswood top bracing. Available in Natural, Vintage Sunburst, and new Turquoise color finishes.

P-90 Single Coil Pickup

Legendary Tone

First introduced in the early 1950s, Gibson's legendary P90 single coil pickup produced a raw powerful tone that helped define the blues and rock and roll in their formative years. Today, the P90's traditional combination of high output and brilliant tone is still considered a favorite among many top musicians. Known by such familiar nicknames as the 'Soapbar' and the 'Cobalt,' the P90 still cuts through any type of music, all while displaying amazing tonal sensitivity for everything from blues and rock to mellow jazz riffs. It's perfect as a vintage replacement, and features vintage, braided two-conductor wiring. It's also fully wax potted to eliminate any chance of unwanted microphonic feedback.

The Epiphone Casino is an absolutely iconic model, perhaps the best-known Epiphone model ever shipped. It was first produced in 1961, at the Gibson Kalamazoo plant; it was based on the Gibson ES-330TD, which was also built there. The vast majority were dual-pickup instruments, however some early examples were fitted with just one P90 pickup. It's legendary status was cemented in the mid-1960s by the patronage of members of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks and many more. John Lennon, in particular was often pictured with his Casino, most notably in his Apple rooftop performance of 1969.

Original Kalamazoo-built Casinos are highly collectable, and much-loved as professional-grade instruments. Beyond 1969, Casino manufacture was moved to Japan, and later Korea and China. These guitars, although still adequate instruments, are not to the same standard as the real Casinos produced in the 1960s. The current Casinos are good entry-level and intermediate instruments and are still one of Epiphones best-selling guitar models.
